Paintings of American Soldiers Through Out the Years
This painting shows what a Soldier would have looked like that was fighting in the revolutionary war. You can tell it was 18th Century because of his musket, and the style of clothing. His protection is very limited and he has almost no body Armour or specific uniform. Title is Unknown, Painted by Don Troiani
This is a painting that was put on a flyer during the first world war to try to get young men to sign up to fight in the war. It says Marine, or be a Sea soldier, like to sign up for the Navy. You can see the new Gun type transformed from the Civil war, and his change in uniform. You can tell of another upgrade from earlier wars because of the Huge battleship in the Background.
Title is Be a Sea Soldier, Author is Unknown
This painting is meant to show the Vitnam war and the things soldiers went through during it. You can tell ts a vietnam painting by the tall grass, jungle in the back ground, and most importanly, the helicopter. The vietnam was nicknamed the Helicopter war because of such a heavy use of helicopters to bring people in and out of places. The helicopter is a big step up in artillery from te last war, and there are many other new improvements in the soldier, like his huge machine gun he is just casually swinging over his shoulder, and the different designed helmet.
Title is Innocence lost, Wesley Lowe
This is a painting of civil war Soldiers in battle. You can see the evolution from the revolutionary war because of the way all of the soldiers are wearing the same thing. This painting shows The civil war especially because of the stereotypical civil war hats and big knifes and big knifes at the end of the gun called a bayonet.
This drawing shows the new and improved American soldier. Thy have new boots and higher grade helmets. The guns are upgraded and you can see the added ammo on the back of the soldiers. They are more protected in general and have bigger weapons, as shown in the front of the picture when the man is loading the RPG. Title is The American Soldier, 1945 Artist, Unknown
This painting of of a soldier who is mourning the death of a friend. Most likely desert storm or around that time period, you can tell that because of his modern, but not sompletely decked out helmet, and the type of camo he has on his unifrm. His backpack and more heavy armour shows that they have stepped up their protection and the goggles show he may be in the desert. This painting is really touching to see because the gun with the helmet on top, next to boots with dog tags hanging shows that a soldier has fallen. Now this soldier has to keep going, even though he could have just lost one of his best friends/. His M16 gun shows another characteristic of modern warfare as well. Painted by Dan Nance
This painting shows two very moder soldiers waiting in the bushes for what could be anything, an ambush, and there's other people with them, or they could be waiting for a ride, or they could just be sitting down and taking a break. But the way you cantell they are so modern, is the big vest they have on, a bulletproof vest, the strap that helps secure the gun to their shoulder, and the big give away is the night vision goggles that are permanently strapped on to their new upgraded helmets.

This is probably my favorite picture of them all. It shows four men, riding in the back of what looks like to be a Hum V or something like that, and you can tell from the title, that they are "going back in" to battle. You can tell they are modern soldiers because of the protective equiptment they have on and their huge helmets. They have the goggles on like in the last picture, and they are riding in some kind of high tech military vehicle to enter the war zone again.
